Some men never seem to give up their toys but only move on to a more sophisticated pastime such as the 400 different types of scale models of military figures and ships on show at the Catholic Institute, in Floriana.

The exhibition, which ends tomorrow, was organised by the Malta Society of Model Makers and has become an annual event for those who are hooked on the art of building items on a small scale.

The models on display range from ships to military vehicles, figures, aircraft, miniature furniture and more. Some models were built from scratch using wood and plastic while others were assembled from a kit but with modifications.

Opening hours today are 8.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and tomorrow from 8.30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
