A Florida man was charged with stalking US Olympic gymnast and "Dancing with the Stars" contestant Shawn Johnson, after police arrested him outside the show's set and found loaded guns in his car. Robert Michael O'Ryan, 34, was arrested this week after he jumped a fence at CBS Studios in Los Angeles, police said. O'Ryan said that the 17-year-old gymnast 'talked to him through the TV and that he wanted to have a child with her'.
Rugby Union
A proposal by England's leading rugby clubs to have six more Premiership fixtures was rejected again by the Rugby Football Union (RFU). Premier League Rugby chiefs had submitted a revised proposal after the RFU decided in January not to increase the number of fixtures. The 12 Premiership clubs had hoped their proposal for more matches would help to raise much-needed revenue during the economic slowdown.
Cricket
England batsman Kevin Pietersen has ruled out the possibility of returning as captain for this year's Twenty20 World Cup, having resigned as test and one-day skipper in January in controversial circumstances. "I just think it's too soon after what happened between me and the ECB," he said. Pietersen quit following what the ECB described as an "irretrievable breakdown" in his relationship with coach Peter Moores, who was sacked on the same day.

"The latest blood analyses showed I can go ahead with a fourth session," the five-times major winner said. The Spaniard had four operations before being discharged from hospital in December.
Figure skating
American Evan Lysacek delighted a partisan home crowd in Los Angeles with an emphatic free skate to capture his first men's World Championship title. Lysacek wowed the judges to complete the competition with a 242.23 total, well ahead of Canadian silver medallist Patrick Chan, who scored 237.58. Brian Joubert seemed to wilt under the pressure of skating after Lysacek and an early stumble was proceeded by a fall, leaving the Frenchman having to settle for bronze.
