A woman driver was yesterday charged with the involuntary homicide of a motorcyclist, a fatality that occurred two years ago almost to the day.

Alexandra Debono, 40, was driving along Burmarrad Road, Burmarrad on March 25 at about 3 p.m. when Adrian Borg, who was driving his Kawasaki ZX9R motorbike, hit the back of the car.

Ms Debono was accompanied by her husband who, being a surgeon, administered first aid but Mr Borg died as a result of the injuries he sustained.

She pleaded not guilty to making a u-turn without paying attention to specific traffic rules and, as a result, caused Mr Borg's death.

Police Inspector Paul Bond prosecuted.

Lawyer Giannella Caruana Curran and Michael Sciriha were defence counsel.
