Changing Metaphors On Clay is the theme of an exhibition consisting of about 40 ceramic works by artist George Muscat.

The exhibition, at Middlesea House, in Floriana, is sponsored by Middlesea Insurance plc and compliments the Group's corporate social responsibility towards promoting the arts. Part of the proceedings of the exhibition, which opens today and ends on April 9, will be donated by the artist to Caritas.

Art critic Louis Laganà has described Mr Muscat as "one of the most talented ceramic-sculptors in Malta" whose "latest creative techniques in the art of clay have reached a high level of aesthetic value".

Mr Muscat first started as an enthusiastic potter on the wheel and later immersed himself in experimentation with various ceramic methods and techniques. Subsequently, he was instrumental in introducing courses in "Raku firings in Malta".

He teaches students of art and design at MCAST.

The exhibition will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and between 10 a.m. 1 p.m. on Saturday. Entrance is free of charge.
