€13 million final cost of incinerator
The incinerator at Marsa originally cost €10.8 million, which went up to around €13 million following the installation of an upgrade. The incinerator started working in December 2007 and is still in its commissioning stage.
Giving the information in answer to a parliamentary question by Charles Buhagiar (PL), Resources and Rural Affairs Minister George Pullicino said the project was one of those financed under the fifth Italian protocol. The contract was given to Barbieri & Tarozzi Group on February 19, 2004.

Would Minister George Pullicino be willing to spend a few thousand euros and donate a special incinerator for domestic animals - pets? So that, perhaps, he would be pushing this backward country that one tiny millimetre forward in our journey towards a more civilised existence? Then, perhaps, thousands of animal-lovers would be able to say their last farewells to their loved pets with an ounce of dignity!!!!
