Elderly man dies after fall

An elderly man died in hospital last night, several hours after he fell down a three-storey shaft at a block of apartments under construction in Għargħur yesterday. Reporting the accident in the morning, the police said they had still to find out what caused the 63-year-old from Luqa to fall and sustain life-threatening injuries.

A magisterial inquiry has been opened.
