Capello selects squad

England coach Fabio Capello named the following 24-man squad for the home friendly against Slovakia on March 28 and the World Cup qualifier four days later at home to Ukraine:

Defenders: Baines (Everton), Jagielka (Everton), Lescott (Everton), A. Cole (Chelsea), Terry (Chelsea), Ferdinand (Man. United), Johnson (Portsmouth), Upson (West Ham), Ledley King (Tottenham).

Midfielders: Barry (Aston Villa), Carrick (Man. United), Lampard (Chelsea), Downing (Middlesbrough), Beckham (Milan), Wright-Phillips (Man. City), Lennon (Tottenham), Gerrard (Liverpool).
