Restoration works at the National Library in Valletta are well underway and should be completed soon. In a recent visit, Resources Minister George Pullicino said the ministry was giving special attention to the capital city and will soon initiate restoration works on the façades of Castille and St John's co-Cathedral.

How is it we don't get specialist to carry out this work? Our 'restoration' using public works workers and local unspecialised architects (or those specialising in the university of Malta) is ruining all our historical building.

The craftsment at the Works Division with the technical support of the Periti, etc., are doing excellent jobs not only at the National LIbrary but also a few metres away on the external walls of the St John's Co-Cathedral. The work of the Resources Minister and the technical team is acknowledged and appreciated.
