A 30-year-old from Valletta was this morning given a three-year jail term suspended to two years after pleading guilty to violently resisting two policemen at the Ta' Qali stadium yesterday.

Simon Cassar also pleaded guilty to threatening, offending and attacking the same officers, damaging another person’s car and disobeying police orders.

He has also been prohibited from entering sports stadia for the next six months.
