Bank of Valletta has published the 38th edition of its review, featuring four informative papers.

The first paper, entitled 'Skilled migration and brain drain', authored by Satish Chand, discusses whether or not emigration depletes the stock of skilled workers in the country from which workers emigrate.

The second paper, 'Measuring market efficiency: A comparative study', was written by Ingrid Formosa. It presents a method for constructing a composite index of market efficiency with particular reference to the goods, labour and financial markets.

Lisa Vella is the author of the third paper entitled 'Part-time employment and social legislation in Malta'. The aim of this paper is to identify factors that give rise to part-time employment in Malta.

The fourth paper entitled 'Owner-occupied housing and its effect on the measurement of inflation for Malta' is written by Audrey Spiteri. This paper discusses whether owner-occupied housing should be taken into account when measuring inflation.
