The third edition of Seħer il-Punent festival of arts, culture, history and music in Għarb will continue today and end tomorrow.
Literally translated, the title of this event means the lure of the West, taking the cue from the name of the village which, in fact, means West.
Organised by the local council, the festival is becoming a milestone in the calendar of events on the sister island.
Today, the festival will feature performances by local singers along Church Street. Special guests will include the Euro Malta Song finalists and Winter Moods.
Tomorrow, gastronomical delights, agricultural produce and strawberries will be available for sale at the main square together with folklore re-enactments.
Matinee activities include Tal-Qiegħa Folk Group which will be carrying out a re-enactment of Il-Qiegħa, the threshing of corn.
