A Malta Football Assocation referee has been fined €500 and given a six months jail term suspended to two years after admitting to bribery to influence a game or its result.

Pierre Saliba, 29, of Ħamrun was arraigned in front of Magistrate Giovanni Grixti accused accepting a bribe for himself or others to influence a game played on February 28.
