I sincerely hope that Mr. J. Spiteri does not represent the opinion and way of thinking of the Maltese society towards the so called 'illegal immigrants' nowadays....but I am afraid he does.....

@Charles Sammut, I never said that Sweden was perfect but in many cities around Sweden integration is a part of every day life and the most part of swedes do not see it as a problem. There is an amount of segregation like in Malmö and depends either on immigrants that want to live segregated or that the system in those parts have partially failed. I live in Uppsala and you do nor see any riots, but people of different cultures and religions that share their daily life together in harmony. This goes for other parts of Sweden, like the capital and other cities. You always find people who oppose this, from both sides, but that is sadly part of life. So in the whole, it can work and it does. You can freely watch the "spectacle" over and over again but if you think that this justifies the way you think you are mistaken.
@I.Galea, you have made your point very clear hundreds of times, so by now we all know that you are anti-africans. Can you come up with something new instead to entertain us?

@ Moses Mula
Go tell it to the Swedes, especially those still living in Malmö.
Before you pretend that you don't know what I am on about, search "Malmö immigrants islam riots muslims" on youtube.com and enjoy the spectacle.

Wherever multiculturalism was imposed great trouble was always the result.
We are NOT an african nation so no africans have any right to come and settle here.
It is only Maltese citizens that have an inherent RIGHT to be here, others do not.

@J.Spiteri, you will find people who agree with integration and those who are not. That does not justify your way of thinking, that integration and immigration rises criminality. People tend to search for groups to be part of, that is only psychology, and the group they are part of, being cultural religious or other sort will always be superior to the other or others. In a few words people are scared of diversity, and that is where the problem lies. Fear can come from lack of knowledge of other groups or simply the lack of acceptance. Once one realises that people from other groups are humans that crave the same things from life as we do and that differences can be accepted without having to change your way of life ( and this goes both ways ) one we learn that a multi-culture society is nothing to be scared of. Europe has to accomodate for other cultures to make them feel a part of society, and some parts did or are doing a fine job. If Europe and the U.S. pretend to have the right to and change the ways of other countries, they have to accept the effects.

@ Moses Mula. Forget the whole world. Just take Europe. Are the MAJORITY of European citizens really happy with their having to adjust to the immigration phenomenon and the diverse cultures they are introducing? Remember that Europe is having to adjust to their cultures and not vice versa. Pity that our children will pay the price of 'our' mistakes. After all, why must WE integrate them; isn't the world big enough?

@J.Spiteri, this comment is a perfect example of the tolerance some Maltese have towards other cultures. Do you really believe, sir, that all the immigrants who will and should be integrated in our society will become criminals? The only thing that can cause a higher percentage of criminality among immigrants is if the Maltese society shuns them and segregates them. There are too many example throughout the world of this fact to mention.

May I ask how a Nigerian national ended up living in Zejtun? Or is he one of those who we are asked to give an opportunity to integrate in our society?
