The Dun Filippu Borgia Society is taking the Archbishop’s Curia and the Joint Office to court on Monday.

The society, which was set up to safeguard the interests of Birkirkara residents, said that it was taking its action because the Curia in 1991 had passed on to the Joint Office property of the Collegiate parish church of St Helen in Birkirkara without having the right to do so.

This property, the society said, was heritage of the people of Birkirkara and the transfer went against the intention of its benefactors.

The society filed a judicial protect in 1997 and recently sent an official letter on the matter.
