Staff turnover at Malta Tourism Authority

I refer to Marie Louise Coleiro's letter, Questions That The MTA Should Be Ready To Answer (March 14).

The individuals who resigned from the MTA in this past year all parted company on the best of terms and moved on, by their own admission, in order to assume new posts and positions elsewhere that involve improved packages and conditions.

In this day and age of significantly increased job mobility, this kind of staff turnover is considered normal within any organisation and certainly not anything to cause unnecessary alarm, particularly within one the size of the MTA that employs over 135 people. With regard to the position of director, product planning, the process for applications was begun some time ago and is taking its natural course.

We trust that the position shall be filled shortly.
