Banif opened a branch in Republic Street, Victoria today, the first Gozo branch to be opened by the bank.

The bank started operations in Malta in January last year and has since opened four outlets.

Gozo Minister Giovanna Debono, who inaugurated the Gozo branch, said the event was an expression of confidence in Gozo, which was particularly significant given the international economic scenario.

Bank Chairman Joseph Sammut said the bank was very satisfied with the results it had achieved so far in Malta. He said that it paid for depositors and lenders to seek new opinions before taking decisions. Banif, he said, viewed itself as a new alternative for Maltese clients and it could give value to its clients.
