Increased demand for St Edward's College

The headmaster of St Edward's College, Michael Chittenden believes that the demand for quality education is increasing.

The college had to open another Year 1 class to meet the demand and kindergarten places were being filled at a rapid rate through to the 2010/11 scholastic year, he said.

The increased demand could also be attributed to another factor: the college was a candidate school for the International Baccalaureate Diploma, the single most recognised international sixth form qualification in the world. "It's heartening to understand that both the local and international communities place so much importance on investing in their children's education," Mr Chittenden said.

Proof of the rising interest in St Edward's College was the record attendance by members of the public at an Open Day that has just been held.
