I would like to join Carmel Bezzina in expressing my gratitude and admiration for Mepa board's decision to turn down the application for the development of 43 apartments in the heart of the Balzan village: Mepa's Rightful No To Balzan Development (March 12).

Being a Balzan resident, this village's quaint character and heritage are very close at heart and it would have saddened me to see it wiped away in order to accommodate developers' plans.

Well done Mepa for protecting one of the oldest villages in Malta and keep up your good work!
