Aerobics at a standstill
I would just like to say thank you and say well done to Charles Micallef at MHEC for the free aerobics classes in various localities around Malta and also thank the local councils which actually hosted the lessons. But just when I thought we were finally getting somewhere as regards health in Malta, the project was ended abruptly!
It is, I believe, far better to tackle the problems of obesity and depression before they become fully fledged in our country, rather than later, by using methods which do not involve the use of pills.
This is my opinion as an aerobics instructor who saw the benefit people were getting from these lessons, both physically and psychologically. We truly need more people like Mr Micallef to take an active stand for health in our country! Here's hoping that the classes recommence as soon as possible.

I have been professionally praising and promoting this initiative for quite some time. It was just a little step in the right direction. We need continuity and more initiatives like this, if we ever want to see the back of obesity and hypokinesia( physical inactivity) in our islands.
Stopping the few actions that directly combat these problems just does not make sense.
