Wasteserv Malta Ltd recently gave a tour of the Thermal Treatment Facility in Marsa to Alternattiva Demokratika officials. The meeting was cordial and many issues related to the current processes and incineration were discussed. This visit was organised as a result of a public invitation made by Resources and Rural Affairs minister George Pullicino.
The most important issue discussed was that of monitoring and publishing of data. To this, Wasteserv explained that the monitoring instruments of the plant are being calibrated regularly until the entire setting process is concluded.
The online system is being used internally until the entire system is commissioned. During this period, the operator is engaging an independent monitor to carry out these tests. The data is being published on the Wasteserv website. Readings for December and January have just been received and inputted.
Wasteserv Malta Ltd also met with the Marsaxlokk council, whose members toured the Sant'Antnin waste treatment plant in Marsascala together with the thermal treatment facility.
