The Victor Pasmore commemorative exhibition, which was at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta, is now open at Heritage Malta's exhibition premises in the Citadel, Victoria.

This exhibition, which marks the centenary from the birth of the artist (1908-1988), who lived in Malta for 30 years, presents works of art produced from 1974 onwards. These include works from the National Collection and from the Central Bank of Malta.

A small sculpture, which was produced by the artist as a model to be copied in marble for the lobby of the same bank's new annexe in Valletta, has been presented by the Central Bank to the National Museum of Fine Arts to form part of the National Collection.

Some of the works on display are in monochrome, while two large works make use of a bright green, evoking a sense of calmness and serenity. The media used vary from paint on board to etching, aquatint, screenprint and wood.

Heritage Malta has published a researched catalogue of Pasmore's exhibition by Katya Borg in collaboration with the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts and MidSea Books. The catalogue is available from the exhibition premises against a donation. The exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will remain open until April 17. Admission is free.

On March 27, Ms Borg will be delivering a public lecture on Victor Pasmore and his importance in British art both as an artist and as an educator. The lecture will be held at the Conference Hall, Ministry for Gozo, St Francis Square, Victoria, at 6.30 p.m. Admission is free.
