Cathedral concert

The Valparaiso University Chamber Concert Band gave a performance entitled Programme for Lenten Reflections at the Gozo Cathedral last Tuesday.

The evening included a Psalm Elegy by Michael Boo, Cesar Franck's Panis Angelicus, two Chorales from Brahms and Frank Erickson's Ballad for Peace, Hymn for Band by Hugh Stuart and A Time to Dance by Julie Giroux.

The programme also included music by Robert Franz, Johann Sebastian Bach, Adoniram Gordon, and The Benediction Chorale, an arrangement by Robert Estill Foster. The concert was concluded with a tribute to the cathedral entitled Citadel by Frank Erickson.

At the end of the programme, Gozo Vicar General Giovanni Gauci, presented a tapestry replica of the cathedral's dome to the conductor Jeffrey Scott Doebler and the Guide-book to the cathedral by Joseph Bezzina to each member of the orchestra.
