New school's Open Day
An Open Day is being held today until 5 p.m at the new boys' school at Verdala inaugurated on Friday by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, starting with Mass at 9 a.m., consisting of educational, cultural, sports and fun activities for all to enjoy, as well as displays organised by the schools within St Margaret College.
Pupils foster tree
For the second year running, the three Year 1 classes at St Ignatius College's St Sebastian primary, Qormi, are participating in the Dinja Waħda project.
After holding a brainstorming session they have decided to foster a tree at Foresta 2000.
Interactive whiteboards
Promethean, makers of the Activboard range of interactive whiteboards, software and content, is inviting teachers to log on the website www.prometheanplanet.com and register to gain access to teaching resources for free.
The company's products include dedicated software to bring the whiteboards to life with bright colours, full movement and hands-on interaction, learner response systems, one-to-one learning; and other tools to engage students' attention in a learning environment.

Recruiting Cypriot students
The European Institute of Education (EIE), Ta' Xbiex, recently took part in the Cyprus International Education Exhibition held in Nicosia to present its programmes and recruit Cypriot students.
EIE operates a campus in Nicosia and in eight other countries.
A large number of UK universities and other international education institutions also took part.
