St George's protest not upheld
The Malta FA Protests Board yesterday dismissed the complaint lodged by St George's over the result of last week's Division One replay against Vittoriosa Stars, which the latter won 2-1.
The Saints contended that Vittoriosa had fielded an ineligible player, Ndubisi Chukunyere. They deemed that the Nigerian striker should have skipped the match as he was banned for the original fixture played on December 27.
However, the Protests Board, after consulting the regulations, dismissed the complaint and decided that the result should stand.

Oh what a circus ! Oh what a Show ! So the Protests Board had decided of a re-match for this fixed match ( From where does this decision come from) and declared this game null. A Nigerian player was suspended for the original game. St.George's claimed that the suspension had to come again into force for this same particular game. And although the Protests Board accepted the fact that this suspension had to come again into force, it was to be for the match against Dingli, for which game this player played. And so this same Board decided that this same player had committed an offence. Since when has the protests board taken over the responsabilities of the Disciplinary Board and decide for which game a player is suspended ??? The MFA rules and regulations need immediate surgery. And what about a sincere fight against corruption ?????
