With this win current champions Rabat Depiro stayed in contention for this year's HAM National League. They are now two points behind leaders Qormi with the same number of games.
Rabat and Qormi meet in a direct clash on Sunday. If Qormi win, then they will only need one point from their remaining two matches to give them the championship after a lapse of 16 years.
On the other hand, a Rabat victory will open up the championship bringing also into the fray Young Stars who still have to meet both Qormi and Rabat.
The first half saw both sides trying hard to gain midfield control, however, Rabat forged ahead on six minutes following a good move involving Kevin Micallef and Josef Antonelli. The latter pinpointed a pass to Jason Vella who beat Vassallo Agius with a neat deflection inside the area.
White Hart's reaction was immediate and from a short corner they drew level through David Agius after having received the ball from Luke Borg Costanzi.
On the change of ends, White Hart seemed to have lost the zest they had shown during the first half and Rabat, sensing this situation, scored two further goals to put the issue beyond doubt.
First it was an Antonelli mazy dribble down the left, beating several players before picking out the unmarked Jonathan Micallef close to the penalty spot. From that position Micallef had no difficulty in beating Vassallo Agius.
The third goal was a picture copy of the first with protagonists again being Antonelli and Vella. White Hart did try to muster a reaction but they were simply not up to it.
