The headquarters of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, located in St Julian's, were broken into last night.

PAM said in a statement this evening that staff discovered that a number of computers and other items were missing when they called in for work in the morning. The police were called in and investigations started under the supervision of the District Magistrate and the Police Inspector. The Criminal Investigation Department is conducting its own investigation.

The news shocked PAM members, and PAM President, Rudy Salles of France, expressed his grave concern that the diplomatic seat of the Mediterranean Parliament had its security threatened by this criminal action.

He augured that security measures at the headquarters would be reinforced.
