Some of these persons hate each other because they are of different tribe and others knows that it is do or lose. These men are not small children they had and have the courage to cross in small boats into the unknown and they have nothing to lose. So to all that they think that they are all saintly good do not be fooled ,we are experiencing what to expect if they keep coming.

For those who think that Sudan is only Darfur, think again. Sudan is an enormous country and rich to boot. Khartoum is booming and is set to rival Dubai in a few years' time. Many of its citizens enjoy a far higher standard of living than we have here.

i have a Maltese mother and an English father. i cant get my Maltese passport renewed because of some bureaucratic red tape putting a deadline on the renewal date yet you can enter illegally break laws, disturb the peace, apply for residency and expect the state to keep you.joke!!!

why should ghanians and nigerians be granted assylum in malta?....i ve friends who are from nigeria and the country is relatively peaceful aside from having a corrupt government.....they not in civil war like the ethopians, sudanese and somalians....so i dont understand why such people should be kept in detention centres for entering our country illegally at the first place....such cases should be treated like those of the tunisians and egyptians that were earlier this year repatriated back to their country with cooperation with there government wetin the earliest possible time......

My sympathy goes out to those poor Safi residents who had to put up with this fighting at 4am.
So let's get this straight. If you try and avoid an accident after 11pm by honking your horn, you risk being reported to the police and subsequently fined, but people who came here illegally in the first place seem to be above the law and can do whatever they want even at 4am.

What are these two people doing here? Ghana and Nigeria are safe places and there is no valid reason for these two persons to be held here. Such cases play into the hands of those who argue that the Govt is not taking refugees problem seriously enough.
