@ Rodnick Abdilla , prosit ! This is the exact point that should be remembered, but your conclusion is incorrect. Dr Frank Portelli , was a Doctor and later an PN MP. He is honourable and even critisiced his own party as you rightly recall in your comment and simply shows that when it comes to Health Issues Dr Frank rises above Politics. The PN demonstarte they are learning their lesson when appointing some who insists on continuos improvement, so in Malta we can have a sustainable Health Care for everyone. There are no many who would risk, political suicide by speaking up, as a noble Dr Frank has done on all our behave, patients and citizen.
PN is finally waking up, before they loose the great passionate people.

I don't support the PN but I think F. Portelli would make a good candidate. Far better than David Casa who was practically invisible these last 5 years.

Dan Frank portelli huwa listess bniedem li qal dan il kliem ?
Frank Portelli, li kien jokkupa wkoll il-kariga ta’ president tal-Kunsill Generali tal-Partit Nazzjonalista, qal dan waqt li kien qieghed jiehu sehem fit-tieni edizzjoni konsekuttiva tal-programm “Bondiplus” dwar Mater Dei.
“Il-koruzzjoni ssir fl-ammont ta’ kummissjonijiet li jinghataw. Mhux ghax qieghed nghid li johodha l-politiku, imma qieghed johodha xi hadd iehor down the line,“ insista Portelli.
“Hemm bniedem li kien offrut kummissjoni kbira wkoll u li dan issa spicca l-habs. Il-kumpanija offrewlu li jekk huma jirnexxielhom jirbhu l-kuntratt jaghtuh kummissjoni kbira,” fakkar Portelli.
Jekk iva mela issa irrid ikun parti min dan it ip ta nies ?

Frabk Portelli an eminent surgeon and noble physician who happens to also have a political view, is a good choice. We should be proud this person is available afterall, we can see, its not an easy thing to be insulted with some of the commnets, simply because of political differences. What matters when it comes to Health Care is Honesty and not Politics. Dr Frank is Nobel and Honest and a passionate health care provider, he has for years criticised his own party to improve our health care - I dont rememeber others coming out so strong - this shows his strong passion and objectivety is Health for patients - Politics, like the rest of us, he has a right to be a memeber of any political party just as you or me,

I laugh when I see all these candidates , seeking the chance of winning a seat ,and an exceptionally LUCRATIVE ONE , in the European Parliament . With a few exceptions ( eg. Dr. F. Portelli ) its amazing how some persons suddenly become infected with the PN or PL "politic- virus". Some have lost their credibility in the process of jumping on a band-wagon . Who knows what their number shall be until the closing date ? Others seem to have become EXPERTS in particular SUBJECTS where they had never been heard OF before !! Now some even pose as Divine Protectors of our dear ISLAND HOME. ....BUT as the song goes .... THE SHOW MUST GO ON . I really feel glad I QUIT politics when Good Old Eddie left . THAT WAS THE TIME WHEN THE SENSE OF ALTRUISM REIGNED SUPREME !

The list for the potential 5 winners of a grand prize of around half a million euros, continue to grows!
The five winners will enjoy 5 years of numerous glamorous parties, addressing the EU parliament for 3 minutes a week (without no one cares what are you saying in your language), free trips to Brussels to your family members, friends and top constituents and many other exclusive prizes attached to this so called ‘job’!
…its like the advert for some Reality TV Show!!

@d ellul. it is plain you are trying to pre-condition people's minds. why should it be a PL landslide when we are repeatedly being told we're doing so well and everything is fine and safe pair of hands etc??? sorry mate but your ruse won't work!!:)))

No match to the PL's candidates. The PL are in for a landslide win, anything less than a landslide will be a failure to Joseph Muscat.

Finally a true gentleman joins the team - a person who reached milestones in the medical sector. Good luck Frank, another reason why I should vote PN. I second Michael that Frank has all the potential to be one of the two winning candidates with Simon. Two very intelligent and vital persons.

Well done Frank! He will be joining a long list of high stamina candidates like Vince Farrugia, eu experts Simon Busuttil, Edward Demicoli and Roberta MTT, and environmentalist Alan Deidun - just to name a few. However, as a Goziton I still feel that there should be room for another candidate to give my fellow Gozitons a better choice.

Very capable candidates, and not only because of their profession. Frank Portelli has a bright independent mind. Good luck, especially, to the young Marthese Portelli who is a very promising candidate.

PN has been and still is struggling big time to match the Partit Laburista`s candidates. So far they failed. An eagle-eyed conspirator drew attention yesterday that PN members where disappointed that no Gozitan candidates where on the list and that only one female candidate was running for office. So the generals at the Bunker had to persuade Marthese Portelli to join the PN list. Of course she refused. Being also the President of the PN executive and a local councillor was already too much on her plate but Gonzi had his final say and she had to succomb. She will be joining the list of unknown quantities / qualities Cini, Triccas, Deidun, Demicoli and Calascione.
Lets have a look at the 10 PN candidates. People will not vote for Busuttil since he will resign after a while anyways to take RCCs job. Double faced Casa will get half of the votes he garnered 4 years ago. Environmentalist Deidun was balanced out by Pro Hunting calascione while Vince Farrugia is no match to Economists Louis Grech and Professor Edward Scicluna. He lacks credibility and economic expertise. Frank Portelli is a decent guy and might be one of the two winning PN candidates

Still two behind the LP list. When will the full and final list be published? Everything takes so long to get done with Gonzipn .
Is this the same Dr Frank Portelli, the private hospital owner and outspoken critic of government malpractices, who, publicly alleged that illegal “commissions” were responsible for spiraling the costs of Mater Dei Hospital to an astronomical Lm250 million?
If yes, welcome on board, maybe you will jolt the Prime Minister's memory regarding one of his promises in June 2007, 16th June to be exact ,as he himself announced new legislation to protect whistleblowers in the public sector.

I fully concur with Ray Schembri,
I decided not to vote in this election, but with the nominee of Marthese I changed my mind, my vote goes for her. Good Luck...

I wouldn't mind voting for Dr. Frank Portelli. He definitely makes a much better choice to Vince Farrugia. But I prefer voting for brains, clout, and integrity. Dr. Kirril Micallef Stafrace. Kirril is young, honest and with excellent social and professional credentials. Besides, Kirril's persona oozes confidence, honesty and intellectual brilliance. All those with a sane morality and sensible priorities and not party slaves, vote for Kirril Micallef Stafrace.

Why didn't the PN approve all candidates all at once like the PL did? Is it fair on the PN candidates that some have been approved before others?
The PL seems more equitable in its approach with all MEPs

Dr.Marthese Portelli is also the President of the PN executive and a local counciller. A great woman with a lot of potential ! All the best Marthese !

hmmm the list is getting longer, good. But isn't Dr Portelli the same one who a year or so ago was saying he was being threathened because he spoke openly about government's mishandling of the hospital construction and alleged corruption? Wonder what makes one change course that way! Well, nice lot indeed, first GRTU's Vince Farrugia, now this. Life is full of surprises I guess

They are struggling to find good candidates. Every week they come with some new. It is becoming a gimmick now.
They now got a lawyer from Gozo - to copy MLP;
PN from leaders are ending up as followers

Becoming more and more obvious how PN is doing its best to pair PL's line-up.
From what I have concluded these are PN's 10 official MEP candidates for the June elections. At least we are not left waiting for more MEP hatchlings coming out of their nest one by one. This was anything but professional from behalf of the Nationalist Party!

At this rate the PN will soon approve someone from the PL camp to contest on the PN ticket!
