This year's overall Hotel Worker of the Year award has been presented to Patrick Galea, concierge at the Radisson SAS Golden Sands Resort & Spa. This award was introduced by MTA for the first time this year and nominations are made by colleagues of the employee by completing an extensive and detailed application.
Mr Galea started working with Island Hotels Group as a porter at the Radisson SAS Bay Point Resort in 2000 and has occupied the post of concierge for the past three years. Apart from the Hotel Worker of the Year award, other Island Hotels Group team members also did very well.
Four members of staff from the group, Fabian Zammit, restaurant manager at the Radisson SAS Bay Point Resort, and Josephine Vella, Rita Buttigieg and Johhny Gee, from the Coastline Hotel, were all nominated for various Star awards. Johnny Gee, an animator at the Coastline, won the overall award in his category.
