Jailed for cultivating cannabis plant
Eugenio Camenzuli, 50, of Mtarfa, was jailed for six months today and fined €465 afer admitting to cultivating a cannabis plant in April 2001 in Siggiewi.
Pharmacist Mario Mifsud told the court that the total amount of cannabis in the leaves was 0.020 grams.
A probation officer, Carmen Nygaard, said the accused was always fully employed, was respected and trusted on the workplace, and had concluded a drug rehabilitation programme.

@ Chris Borg,
Yes unfortunately our laws are very much behind other countries when it comes to things like this. We are still treating cannabis in the "one cigarette and you're hooked on heroin" mentality whereas other countries have cut down their focus on cannabis and concentrated on harder, dangerous drugs.

In many european countries, one plant per adult per household is legal and in Malta you go to jail for 0.020 grams .... street value of what???? 50 cents???
