Labour's aggressive approach still evident

I have never seen promises reneged upon so quickly. Marlene Mizzi, a PL candidate in the European elections, promised in her article (When Petty Is Pretty Serious, March 3) that she always addressed issues not persons and that she hates being patronised. A few lines away, and there she was accusing Roberta Metsola Tedesco Triccas, a PN candidate for the same elections, of lacking in social graces. There could have been a myriad of reasons why Ms Metsola Tedesco Triccas failed to acknowledge her at the meeting in question. But Ms Mizzi patronised her by reaching her own conclusion. Aggression seems to be endemic in the Labour Party.

Ms Mizzi, in Joseph Muscat's style, mentioned the case of a 50-year-old "who lost his job and has no idea how he'll support his family". Could she please tell us whether the chances of this man getting help from the ETC and different forms of help through EU funds are better now that we are in the EU rather than if we stayed out as Labour wanted us to do? Ms Mizzi seems to be advocating more EU powers of local governance, otherwise she wouldn't have mentioned the utility bills which are a matter for our government to sort out. And what about the fear of being mugged? Ms Mizzi needs to be serious. At least we are now no longer afraid of being officially "mugged" by a police force supported by a Labour government run by some of the same people who are still militating in the PL today and with whom Ms Mizzi obviously feels comfortable working as a colleague.
