Obituary

BEZZINA. On March 7, at her residence, JOAN, née Caruana, aged 88, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her siblings Emmy, Victor, Mario, Anthony and his wife Veronica, Sonia and Charles, her grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Mass was held yesterday. No flowers by request but donations to the Razzett tal-Ħbiberija/Eden Foundation will be appreciated.

BONNICI - JOSÉ. Passed away on February 15 in the Philippines, aged 63. He leaves to mourn his loss his sons Iannis and Yorick and their mother Maria, his mother Muriel, his brothers, sisters and their families, other relatives and friends. A Mass in his memory will be said tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. at Stella Maris parish church, Sliema. May he rest in peace.

CINI. On March 8, MICHAEL, from Xagħra. Gozo, aged 85, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children, Annette, Rose and her husband Emanuel, Liliana and her husband Bernard and Joe and his wife Mary, his grandchildren Silvio, Derek, Sylvana, Stephan and Pauline, his sister Carmela, his brother-in-law Michael, besides other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves the Gozo General Hospital tomorrow at 3.30 p.m. for the Maria Bambina Basilica in Xagħra where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 4 p.m. followed by interment in the family vault at the Xagħra parish cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Sacred Heart Seminary in Gozo will be greatly appreciated.

DIMECH. On March 9, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANNETTE of Sliema, widow of Joseph, aged 98, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Doris, wife of Anthony Pandolfino, Iris, wife of Paul Borg, residing in Australia, Rose, wife of John Gatt, Marthese, wife of Aldo Perotti, Antoinette, wife of Albert Forte, Marie, wife of Lino Magro, her son Frank, her dear grandchildren, their spouses and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for the Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family is grateful to the staff of Ward M4, Mater Dei Hospital. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GALEA. On March 9, at Mater Dei Hospital, TERESA, aged 69, residing at Fgura, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her sad loss her beloved husband Joe, her children John and Audrey and their families, her brothers Salvu and William, her sister Frances, their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 7.45 a.m. for Fgura parish church, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord grant her eternal rest.

INGUANEZ. On March 8, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTHONY, aged 74, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife, Josephine, née Suda, his children Mona and her husband Joseph, Simone and her husband Paul and Nathalie, his dearest grandchildren Isabel, Martha, Deborah and Leanne, his sister Menina, other relatives and friends. Mass praesente cadavere will be said today at 2.30 p.m. at Msida parish church, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

JAPPY. On March 8, JOHN EDWARD BOOKER of Scotland, residing at St Paul's Bay, passed away peacefully at the age of 71, comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Victoria, his children Ian and his wife Gaynor, Isabella, Suzanne and her husband Mario, his grandson Mitchell, his in-laws and their families, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Sir Paul Boffa Hospital tomorrow at 8.15 a.m. for Our Lady of Sorrows parish church, St Paul's Bay, where a Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at the Ħniena Divina Cemetery, St Paul's Bay. Philately meeting

Mail to Gaza

The postal service to the Gaza Strip has resumed. Israel Post is doing everything it can to reduce the backlog but delays are possible until all the mail has been handed over to the Palestinian postal authorities.
