Most GO Internet subscribers lost their connection for about 70 minutes last night when a fault in the company's system developed at 1.30 a.m.

A spokesman for the Malta Communications Authority said the fault did not have anything to do with the international submarine cable.

He said that by the time the MCA was informed of the problem this morning, it had already been solved.

GO plc confirmed the incident and apologised for any inconvenience caused to its customers.
