The government will tomorrow (Wednesday) announce its scheme for the registration of suppliers in line with its electoral commitment to hand out energy saving bulbs, Resources Minister George Pullicino said in Parliament this evening.

That would be followed, in the coming weeks, with the handing out of vouchers for the bulbs to be collected, the minister said.

He made his comment during the debate in Parliament on an Opposition motion to annul the utility tariffs.

Last month, the Resources Ministry said that more than a million energy saving bulbs would be distributed to households in Malta and Gozo. It said households of one or two persons would receive five energy saving bulbs, those of three or four persons would receive eight lamps and bigger households would receive 10.
