An audience survey commissioned by the Broadcasting Authority has found that Bay Radio attracted the highest number of radio listeners in the October-December period, while TVM was the most popular among televiewers.

The survey found that Bay had the highest number of radio listeners for the quarter at 16.4% followed by One Radio at 16% and Calypso radio at 13.1.

Compared to the previous assessment period of July-September 2008, One Radio and Bay exchanged rankings, One lost 3.2% over the previous period while Bay gained 1.6%.

One Radio attained the highest daily average audience at 1.13% followed by Calypso and Bay Radio. Calypso had the highest weekday peak

The survey found that 47.6% of those interviewed did not listen to radio, a drop of 2,4% over the same period in 2006.

Just under a quarter of respondents also said they did not watch television.

TVM had the biggest number of viewers for the quarter at 34.7% an increase of 10.8% over the July-September period and an increase of 7.9% over the same period in 2007. One TV maintained its share of reach at 20% while Net TV saw its audience reach halved over the same period in 2007 to 6.0%.

TVM also led in the daily average viewership at 32.2% followed by One at 24.1% and Net at 5.7%.
