Autopsy on boy shows death by drowning
A 16-year-old boy whose body was found in Grand Harbour on Sunday had drowned, according to a preliminary autopsy report, issued today.
The autopsy report is preliminary since toxicological tests still have to be concluded.
Formal identification of the body has still to be made because of the advanced stage of decomposition. However it is believed to have been Maxim Vorobyev, who had been missing for over a week.
Police investigations are continuing.

I am sure that the police must have very good reasons for ruling out foul play - they must know much more about the rest of us commenting here.

Death by drowning is related only to the manner in which this young boy died. It does not say anything else and it does not rule out foul play. The poiice have already conditioned readers by saying that they do not suspect foul play. Why didn't they do a thorough investigation before commiting themselves? Or is an investigation too much of an effort to go through?. My heart goes out to this boy's family who, for the rest of their lives will probably remain without answers as to how this boy, running a quick errand with his cooking waiting for him at home to get back quickly , ended up in the sea and drowned..

Let us pray for the soul of this boy and all the children, and also for the family in this hour of sorrow may God protect all from evil.

Accidents happen when least expected. May Max rest in peace, and may God comfort his loved ones!

Have none of you ever been 16 years old? Don't you remember the mischief which an average 16 year old goes through? How silly ideas crop into one's head out of the blue and lead you to change plans without thinking? Isn't it perfectly feasible that a curious 16 year old is attracted to the shoreline on a stormy day to see the waves and is unwittingly dragged in by an unforgiving sea? Enough of the conspiracy theories please.....
