Serie A leaders Inter Milan handed Genoa their first home league defeat of the season today when strikers Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli sealed a 2-0 victory.
The win, which puts the champions 10 points clear, came at a cost with centre backs Marco Materazzi and Nicolas Burdisso going off injured ahead of Wednesday's Champions League last-16 second leg at Manchester United.
Ibrahimovic ran clear and dinked the ball over keeper Rubinho after two minutes before Balotelli's weak shot was adjudged to have crossed the line in the second half.
Roma, who had Daniele De Rossi sent off and lost David Pizarro to injury, missed the chance to go fourth when they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Udinese in the day's early game.
Second-placed Juventus face derby rivals Torino later on today.
