Union objects to ADT edict
The Union Haddiema Maghqudin warned the Malta Transport Authority (ADT) it would order industrial action should managers have to re-apply for their position.
The union said it was informed that, on Monday, the ADT's chairman met with its managers and informed them they had to re-apply for their posts as part of what he termed "restructuring".
It said it had been waiting for ADT's counterproposals on the matter but instead the ADT had taken "unacceptable and irresponsible" action. The union said it had written to the authority's chairman and informed him that, in the circumstances, it had no choice but to take action.

Can anyone tell me why we never hear of any industrial action in the private sector ? Why are the unions militant only in the public sector ? Is it possible that conditions in the public sector are so bad while those in the private sector are so good? Or are the unions so sure that whatever happens the post of the public workers is secured by our taxes?

one whole year of ''restructuring'' and what have we the employees or the public witnessed. total disaster, lack of management, victimisations and nothing to show for it. A WHOLE YEAR WASTED. but at least the top people have their fat salaries, ceo, chairman executive par excellence. tell your stories to the queues at licensing. or the drivers who messed up their cars in your lovely roads. you do not know what shame is that's your problem.

This episode might be a blessing in disguise; the union should install management slow down devices and stop signs with speed camera calibrated at Zero KMP! Come on Gejtu you have an opportunity to infuse some sense into the Tower of Babel don’t let it slip by!
If I were you I will demand a complete reshuffle top to bottom with as much replacement as it needs to get the ADT to do its job. That is if big brother isn’t the prime cause of all our trouble!
