Three Romanians arrested in credit card fraud investigation
Two men and a woman, all Romanian, have been arrested in connection with police investigations of credit card fraud amounting to thousands of euro.
The police said the investigations were launched after reports of suspicious transactions in bank ATMs and shops.
Some 60 credit cards, a false passport, computers and equipment used to produce false credit cards were seized from a house in Msida.
The arrested persons are between 20 and 27 years old.

I read these comments and all I can say is what are you all on about??? So now we think Romanians are ALL criminals??? Well that is very mature thinking isn't it?, how many Maltese people have committed crimes a hundred times worst than credit card fraud?? I am VERY happily married to a Romanian citizen and my partner is the sweetest person you could ever wish to meet. I can't understand how in 2010 we can still judge and class people from other countries as being foreigners. Trust me without ''foreigners'' we would not be where we are today In today's world e cannot and must not keep generalising countries by the actions of a few of their citizens. So if we have a few murders in Malta are Maltese murderers? If we have a few robberies are Maltese thieves? Of course not!!!!! So let's all GROW UP and stop acting like little children. We live in ONE world and we must all tolerate each other at times.

@Charles Micallef
Please note the Romania is in EU since 2007: http://europa.eu/abc/european_countries/eu_members/romania/index_mt.htm
Well that's what one minus of EU is. Criminals can roam freely while police have to face bureacracy.

Well done to the Police, however let us not rush with our judgements and not assume that all Romanians are the same. Some Maltese are criminals as well, that doesn't mean we generalise all Maltese are criminals.

If possible they should be stopped at the port of entry, and save all the hussle, they are reknowned worldwide for this sort of fraud, since they are not in the EU or unless they have a very good reason to visit Malta they should be sent back straight away

@ Simon Sullivan
How right you are, Malta can not afford to keep giving out free handouts to ever Dick, Tom and Harry who decide to go to Malta, legal or illegal, and want to live the same way they did in the country come from, which they paid a lot of money to leave. Why should the Maltese people keep giving what little they have to these who come to financially improve themself and live by the laws of the country they left behind?

Congratulations to the Police on the success of this operarion. As the economic sitiuation in Eastern Europe and elsewhere deteriorates we are to expect more of this type of modern crime to take place here. Many other Western European countries are exposed to teh same experiences. The police would do well to train in meeting the new challenges that modern technology and criminals proficient in the manipulation of modern technology will be bringing to our shores.

Well done to everybody involved. Now, if convicted, make an example of them so we do not end up like Italy where they are having big problems with Romanians. It is interesting to know that according to official figures released by Italian police crime by Romanians in Italy have increased dramatically while in Romania crimes have gone down considerably.

Well done. However, if convicted, I feel that these should be given a prison sentence or better still should be sent back home not to be allowed to ever come back to Malta. Hopefully, it will serve as a lesson to others.

Even the Italian Police have a big problem with the increase
in crime where Romanians are involved. So the Malta
Police must keep a sharp watch. Again WELL DONE Police.
