A driver earlier this week tried to run over a warden who was stopping him because of a traffic violation, the GWU said today.

It said the incident happened two days ago in Qormi. The warden was not injured.

The union condemned the incident and appealed to the authorities to investigate the case and to deter similar incidents.

It also insisted that wardens should work in pairs and not individually.
