Bolt books first 100m of the season

Beijing Olympic sprint star Usain Bolt will run his first 100-metres race of the year at the Foster College meet on March 14 at Spanish Town, organisers of the meet have said.

Bolt, who set world records in winning the 100 and 200 gold medals last August in Beijing, competed in 400m races and relay events last month.

Ventley Brown, chairman of the meet organising committee, said that Bolt would take part in the meet as part of his early season preparations in a year that could bring another stellar August at the World Championships.

"Bolt has confirmed to run the 100," Brown said.
