Youth football
The eighth Sliema Wanderers FC Carnival Football Tournament was held recently at the St Aloysius Sports Complex. Thirty teams from 13 nurseries took part. Sliema clinched the U-12 and U-14 titles, Luxol St Andrew's topped the U-13 competition and Melita took the honours in the U-11 category. Picture shows Sliema's U-14 captain Gabriel Aquilina with the winners' trophy in the presence of club president Stephen Abela and Nursery chairman Tony Meli.
