No injuries in pharma factory reservoir explosion
No one was injured this morning in an explosion at the Soleia pharmaceutical factory in Bulebel.
Eyewitnesses said the explosion took place in a reservoir. Members of the Civil Protection Department were on the scene to give assistance.
The eyewitnesses said the explosion appeared to have been caused by some fumes in pipes leading to a reservoir. The roof of the reservoir collapsed. A road surfacing machine which had been on top of the reservoir crashed down with the debris. The reservoir was empty.
The factory is still under construction.

It's a brand new reservoir, a reservoir is built to hold liquids in and other liquids out. IWhilst I appreciate what you stated I can't see it happening here. And it must have been a big explosion to demolish the whole slab.I have my doubts .

Because of my previous employment as a Telephone Engineer , I can explain how fumes can be in a brand new pipe, if for instance there was a leak in a petrol pipe in the area, fumes from it would "creep" along the ground, ( being heavier than air ) finding a pipe handy the fumes would not go around it but would enter the pipe, This is the reason that jointers were instucted to do Gas tests in underground chambers, apart from the obvious danger of naked flames causing an explosion , the fumes would kill anybody unwise enough to enter the chamber if gasses were present.. How could there had been fumes in brand new pipes when the factory is not even operating. This smells fishy.
