Vandals target Pembroke councillor's car
The Opposition's spokesman on local councils, Stefan Buontempo, had expressed solidarity with the Deputy Mayor of Pembroke, Alfred Mazzitelli, after vandals targetted his car.
Informed sources said the vandals scratched the councillor's car and wrote vulgar words on it.
Dr Buontempo said councillors worked voluntarily for their localities at great personal sacrifice. Such cowardly acts shamed those who carried them out and would not intimidate the victims.

It is a pity that we still have persons - if they deserve to be addressed so - in this day and age who cannot face another person and discuss any matter that is bothering him in a civil manner, and prefers to stoop so low as damaging ones possessions.
I empatise and sympathise with Mr Mazzittelli, more so since I had been a victim myself to the extent that my family had to find refuge for 2 weeks in our own copuntry. Despite that 30 years had passed from that incident, I still suffer from time to time from personal insults, including on the web - one may visit maltafly website as a confirmatiion.
I hope that the culprit/s who damaged Mr. Mazzittelli's car are apprehended by the police in the shortest possible time.
