Tougher conditions on the operation of landfills for inert waste being introduced, MEPA said this afternoon.

It said it had asked operators to comply with the latest environmental standards under legal notice 337 of 2001. The new regulations have been introduced to curb dust emissions and to bring about higher standards of waste control.
