Dr Jaroslav Sklenar, from the University's Department of Statistics and Operations Research, will give a talk entitled 'Infinite Horizon Dynamic Programming Models' on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Computer Lab 606.
Rewarding Fema high achievers
Students at the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy (Fema) who were top of their respective course groups in 2007/8, will be awarded cash prizes at a ceremony to be held on Thursday at 6.30 p.m. at Francis Ebejer Hall (LT2) in collaboration with Deloitte and Touche and the Central Bank.
Faculty dean Saviour Gauci will also announce the six first-year students to be included in the dean's list and Bank of Valletta chairman Roderick Chalmers will deliver a talk on 'The current international financial situation - its effects on the Maltese economy'.
Speech, language: lost and found
A seminar entitled 'Speech and language: lost and found' on the role of speech-language pathologists in the rehabilitation of victims of stroke, head injury or progressive neurogenic conditions such as Parkinson's disease and dementia, will be held on Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Central Auditorium, Block C, Level 3, Mater Dei Hospital.
The seminar is organised by the Association of Speech-Language Pathologists (ASLP) Malta, in conjunction with the Health Division's Speech-Language Department and the Communication Therapy Division of the Institute of Health Care (IHC).
It is open to students of the IHC and the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, and interested professionals.
