Those who own second-hand tail-lift vans, the kind used to transport disabled people, have a month's time to register them if they are found to be roadworthy.
A number of families and dealers had bought such second-hand vehicles but were unable to register them because the regulations were unclear.
Transport Minister Austin Gatt said he asked Malta Transport Authority chairman Simon Vella to sort out the problem.
Dr Gatt said some of the owners were not informed they could register the vans, so this was being made public.
"Since the ADT changed its policy about this kind of second-hand vans a number of times, they are now being given a chance, if they are roadworthy, to be registered," he said.
