Balbo: Former Roma forward Abel Balbo has quit as coach of Serie B side Treviso after less than a day in charge following supporter and player unrest over the running of the club. Inter-Samara: Inter have signed a co-operation agreement with Russian Premier League club F C Krylia Sovetov Samara. "Under the terms of the agreement, the two clubs will share experiences in the spheres of coaching, management and club infrastructure, with a particular focus on the development of youth football," an Inter statement said.
China hopefuls: Four Chinese coaches are being given a three-day grilling to see which one of them will be handed the dubious honour of taking charge of the national team. The four have been sent to a closed training base where each will have to give a 15-minute presentation and undergo a three-hour written test on their knowledge of education, management and sport. Caretaker Yin Tiesheng, who took temporary charge last December after China's early exit from 2010 World Cup qualifying is one of the candidates.
No strike: Players at Ecuadorean champions Deportivo Quito have suspended a strike over unpaid wages before a Libertadores Cup match yesterday. However, the players warned they could boycott an Ecuadorean league match on Saturday against local rivals LDU if the problem is not solved by then. Quito won the Ecuadorean championship in December to clinch the title for the first time in 40 years. Coach Carlos Sevilla resigned less than one week later in a row over bonuses.

Rugby Union: Hooker Leonardo Ghiraldini has returned to the Italy team for Saturday's Six Nations championship match against Scotland having missed the first two games through injury. Motor racing: Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone has launched a new British-based karting series to help youngsters follow in the footsteps of McLaren's champion Lewis Hamilton. Organisers said that the Formula Kart Stars (FKS) series could feature on the support programme for European grands prix from 2010 and further afield from 2011, with Ecclestone also providing special prizes.
Formula One: Singapore Grand Prix organisers say they have already sold 60 per cent of their Paddock Club hospitality tickets for the Sept. 27 night race despite the global credit crunch. "Given the current economic realities, we are greatly encouraged by the very strong support we have received," said director for corporate sales Darren Chen in a statement.
