Over 260 uniformed personnel took part in a five-kilometre fun run yesterday to mark the 61st anniversary of the Conseil International du Sport Militaire.

Members of the Armed Forces of Malta, the Police Force, the Civil Protection Department and the Corradino Correctional Facility took part in the run, under the council's motto To Achieve Friendship Through Sport.

The council has 131 members and Malta was the more recent country to join last year. The rest of the members marked the anniversary last week but the AFM postponed the event due to the funeral of Gunner Matthew Psaila, who died tragically after taking part in a military exercise.
