Mediocrity of 'national portrait gallery'

This should start another controversy. Another case of bad taste. Just visit the website www.npgmalta.com and let's have readers' comments.

To all those conerned with the setting up of the National Portrait Gallery of Malta, please do art a favour and remove the website altogether. It is an eyesore in more ways than one, and if the plan for this endeavour means to go ahead, do the Maltese a favour and tackle it through the right channels. It is not difficult to trace the right persons for the job. After all anybody who is in the least familiar with the artistic scene in Malta need not find it a problem.

Mediocrity should not have a place in such a gallery for we are proud to have artists who have shown their mettle in various genres of which portrait painting is one of them.
